French Blooms

Her observations about how the French live with flowers and how they work with florists to create bespoke arrangements that are ‘just right’ for their lives, shaped her thinking and business model. Sandra opened Les Fleurs, based in Andover, Massachusetts, since 1989. This book is more than a book about flowers. Sandra shares a lifetimes experience of French floral design principles. She provides ‘recipes’ for arrangements (and shares all the insider tips to get them looking stunning), shares ideas for gardens which provide the type of flowers and foliage that you might see in a French bouquet and reveals all her contacts and resources so you can have a go at home.

I personally found the style of arrangements unusual. They were rich with flowers but not familiar to me here in New Zealand. Florists in my country certainly do it differently!!Loved the book, loved the easy-to-understand explanations, and lingered over the garden design chapter. And of course, the photos are a pleasure in themselves.
