Toute Allure – Ray’s Review
dogs Jenson & Button, one of which lives up to it’s name by tearing around like a demented F1 driver.
The main storyline is the blossoming romance between the author and the new love in her life who goes by the name of “Biff”, a small black dog with boundless energy who requires frequent long walks in the surrounding countryside, described in sufficient detail as to make the reader imagine they were also there.
We learn about Karen‘s introduction to “le danse country” and also what it’s like to have a group of Portuguese builders move in next door and disturb her tranquility. Karen has an easy writing style that manages to draw the reader into her idyllic rural lifestyle which is described in such a witty, funny and entertaining way that it makes you feel part of it. Overall this is much more than just a sequel and is a well written, entertaining story of living the simple life in the French countryside. Ray D - 28/09/2010 |
