Things which include the local fire drill which takes place in the village bar, the numerous animal visitors to the house, and the farce of the Tour de France!
He also introduces a eclectic mix of English characters who are trying to make their home in a country that seems friendly, affordable and may well leave you hopping on the ferry to locate you own "Maison Secondaire".
Their love of France is apparent and this book leaves you feeling like you really do know them!

He successfully manages to capture the "joie de vie" which leaves you enthralled and entertained throughout.
If you like humour, France, a good read, or all three, then I would recommend "French Letters".
This is the third book from this author and if you haven't read the first two, "Home and Dry in France" and "Rene and Me", you will soon want to!
